Sleep Drift collects no data. It has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no access to your microphone, camera, contacts or location. Nothing you type, nothing you make, and nothing about how you use the app is transmitted anywhere.
Sound is generated on your device by machine-learning models bundled inside the app. When you describe a sound, that text is processed on the device and the audio is synthesised there. No request is sent to any server, and no third-party audio or AI service is involved. The app functions with no network connection at all, which you can confirm by using it in airplane mode.
Your sounds, your favourites, and your settings are saved on your device only. They are not backed up to us, because there is no “us” to back up to. Deleting the app deletes them.
Earlier versions recorded one value in the device keychain — the date you first ran the app — to count a seven-night free trial that no longer exists. The app no longer writes it, and a new install never creates one. Where an older install left one behind it is a single date: it contains no personal information and is never transmitted. Any free week offered today is Apple's, handled by the App Store rather than by the app, and only for an Apple Account that has not already used it.
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase is active. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
The app is suitable for all ages and is often used in a nursery. Because it collects nothing from anyone, it collects nothing from children either.
If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a new practice.
