SleepDrift collects no data. It has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Nothing you type, nothing you make, and nothing about how you use the app is transmitted anywhere.
Sound is generated on your device by machine-learning models bundled inside the app. When you describe a sound, that text is processed on the device and the audio is synthesised there. No request is sent to any server, and no third-party audio or AI service is involved. The app functions with no network connection at all, which you can confirm by using it in airplane mode.
Your sounds, your favourites, and your settings are saved on your device only. They are not backed up to us, because there is no “us” to back up to. Deleting the app deletes them.
One value is kept in your device keychain: the date you first ran the app, used to count the seven-night free trial. It contains no personal information and is never transmitted.
SleepDrift can measure how loud your room is, so it can warn you when the volume is above the level usually advised for all-night infant sleep. This runs only when you tap “Check level” in Settings. The microphone reading is converted to a loudness number and discarded immediately. Audio is never recorded, saved, or transmitted, and the microphone is never used at any other time.
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app only whether a purchase is active. Apple's handling of that transaction is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
The app is suitable for all ages and is often used in a nursery. Because it collects nothing from anyone, it collects nothing from children either.
If this policy ever changes, the revised version will be posted here with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a new practice.
